Pro Links Sports is seeking a highly qualified applicant in the area of sports sponsorship activation at the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship, Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort, Tampa, Florida.

The Valspar Championship is an official professional golf tournament on the PGA TOUR.  Played at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort in Palm Harbor FL, the event is part of the season-long FedExCup and features 144 of the top players worldwide.  The event attracts over 100,000 fans during tournament week from over 45 states and 9 Canadian provinces; and is broadcast to over 227 countries via the Golf Channel and NBC Sports.  The event is operated by Copperhead Charities (The Copperheads) and Pro Links Sports, and has generated over $38 million for local charities since 1977 with the help of hundreds of sponsors and over 2,000 volunteers.  Title sponsor is Valspar Paint.  www.valsparchampionship.com

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Sponsorship Activation and Pro-Am Manager

The candidate will work with over 150 sponsors to execute and fulfill all the deliverables in their tournament sponsorship agreements.  This will include all tracking, delivery, execution, and maintenance to meet and exceed client expectations.  Candidate will also be responsible for sales and renewal of over 10 sponsors along with management of all tournament pro-ams and special events.

Must be an excellent communicator, have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, can work without supervision and meet deadlines, and has to be proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM programs.

Candidate will report directly to the Tournament Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Presents ideas and opportunities to help grow tournament partnerships by keeping current with goals, objectives and the competitive corporate landscape in the market;

Liaise with other teams on sponsored programs which include, but are not limited to sales, marketing, Copperheads, community relations, ticketing, finance, operations, and volunteers;

Contributes to any efforts, thoughts or actions used to boost overall revenue for the organization;

Monitors the competitive marketplace, including local and national sports and entertainment properties;

Production of sponsorship contracts and inventory tracking within SalesForce CRM system;

Weekly reporting to tournament teams and monthly to PGA TOUR on sales to-date related to goals;

Works with finance to ensure timely invoicing and collections;

Tracking of all tournament sponsorship deliverables and working with printers, sign vendor, caterer, operations and other vendors to ensure all deliverables are implemented;

Complete management of all tournament pro-ams including amateur communications, pro-am database, registration, and gift selection/distribution;

Production of post-tournament recap reports, sponsorship gifts, and pro-am and sponsorship surveys;

Management of special events including sponsor summit, charity breakfast, and various sponsor golf outings;

Management of corporate hospitality volunteer and transportation committees and other committees as assigned;

Negotiation and management of tournament hotel partnerships;

Recruitment and management of summer, fall and winter college interns;

Collaborates and partners with internal and external stakeholders; 

Other duties as assigned.

Candidate should have a minimum three to five years of experience in the following areas:

Working with a regional or national sports organization;

Interaction with Fortune 200 companies;

Demonstrated success in working in a team environment with the ability to interact and discern and implement the objectives of multiple stakeholders;

Thorough understanding of the ‘world of sports business’ including a passion for the game of golf;

Must reside or relocate to the Tampa, Florida area;

Understanding and proficiency with marketing data analytics programs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in sports marketing, sponsorship or management

3-5 years of experience in either marketing, partnership marketing, sponsorship, corporate sales
