We presently have an opportunity for a Sales Specialist in the Championship Management Department. The Sales Manager is responsible for designing and implementing effective sales strategies to identify new business opportunities and grow existing client relationships with Official Marketing Partners for the Championship Management events through tournament activation platforms. In addition, the Sales Manager will assist with sales management processes for Championship Management tournament sales teams.


Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Minimum of three to five years of sales and marketing experience, ideally in sports, event management, media or hospitality required; Golf tournament sales experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related area required
  • Thorough sales knowledge which includes prospecting, pre-qualifying, questioning, presentation, overcoming objections, conveying value proposition, listening, negotiating and closing sales
  • Confident, pro-active, and enthusiastic style that assimilates well within a team
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software packages to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Salesforce CRM experience is a plus



  • Assist with PGA TOUR Official Marketing Partners – from pitch/proposal through execution phases – to develop annual programs across Championship Management events
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales. This may include the research, review and maintenance of ongoing competitive market analysis including financial and demographic factors
  • Coordinate with Tournament Executive Directors and other relevant departments (Partnership Marketing, Legal, CM Operations, etc.) on OMP sponsorship and hospitality programs
  • Focus new business activity on new National Sales opportunities
  • Develop and execute annual hospitality and sponsorship sales plan – including, but not limited to, execution of evergreen partner communication plan and related sales and service tactics
  • Develop and execute a professional sales presentation which conveys the event’s unique selling proposition and is customized with benefits to meet target audience goals
  • Participate in weekly/regular calls with all CM tournaments, ED’s, and sales representatives
  • Assist with the oversight of tournament and sales representative revenue generating efforts which would include; tournament revenue pacing, tournament product lockdown process, tournament sales collateral, tournament client data reports, sales representative pacing, sales representative revenue/pipeline/activity plans, and CRM
  • Assist in the training and on-boarding of new Championship Management sales staff members
  • Complete special projects as requested, which may include: presentation or document development in support of various Championship Management business objectives: data analysis: research projects
  • Provide Vice President, Tournament Revenue weekly evaluation of progress against set annual goals; reporting may include call report, prospect list and other sales related information
